Grooving Iona
Short video showing our own laminitic pony Iona, who has only been lame for about 12 hours at the start of the video and follows her progress over the following week.
We have obtained veterinary approval to groove her feet.
I believe the improvement seen after grooving is due to the fact that very little damage has occurred to her foot at this early stage and that hoof capsule distortion is the cause of pain in all acute laminitis cases.
Three months later distended laminae could be observed in the fore hooves.
